Business Affairs exists to support and undergird the work of the Executive Board and administration while emphasizing the stewardship of service to the churches and associations of the Arkansas Baptist State Convention.
Accounting team members handle Cooperative Program gifts sent by the churches and control the disbursement of all funds. This includes all phases of payroll service and the responsible management of cash flow, investments and payment for the Convention. Churches may request information about their church's gift records. All financial records are audited and reported to the messengers of the Convention annually. Employee benefits are managed by team members in coordination with health and retirement plans.
Computer Services personnel manage a network of computers that provide word processing, spreadsheet and database support, and support all accounting functions and software.
All property, liability and multi-peril insurance for the Executive Board is overseen by this group, as well as telephone and communications services, including toll-free 1-800 service plans. Convention budgeting is provided and prepared for presentation to the Executive Board and the Convention messengers. The fleet of vehicles is also managed and maintained by Business Affairs team members.
