Many churches are finding the Intentional Interim Ministry (IIM) to be very helpful when a pastor resigns. The IIM is led by a trained Intentional Interim Pastor who leads the church with the help of a Transition Team through five transitional or developmental tasks.

"The Search is On" - Finding and Calling a Pastor

Church members have various reactions to the time between pastors. In most churches, we call it the interim time. During this phase of church life, the church may spend time getting direction for the interim, determine what kind of pastor is needed for the church, elect a search committee, go through the search and call process and get ready for the ministry of the new pastor.

Compensation Study

Thirty-five (35) state conventions join together to complete a compensation study every two years. Various reports are available from the survey including averages of salaries in churches with similar attendance, membership and budgets. Resume Service

The Arkansas Baptist State Convention provides a resume service for churches searching for a pastor or staff member. By providing some basic information such as church membership, Sunday School attendance, experience required, education required, etc., you can secure names of men who have placed their resume in the ABSC system.
