SUNDAY SCHOOL PEOPLE_1945C.jpgSunday School is usually the largest ministry in an Arkansas Baptist church. Sunday School is basically a ministry of small groups. The Sunday School usually divides people, based on their age or their “stage in life”, into small groups. The mission of Sunday School is to reach unchurched people. The foundation of Sunday School is relationships. The strength of Sunday School is ministry. The heart of Sunday School is Bible study. The Evangelism and Church Growth Team believes that Sunday School should be and could be a healthy, growing ministry in your church. We are here to help you with Sunday School through training, resources, and consulting. For more information on Sunday School, choose one of our pages that focuses on a specific age-group or function.

Pastors/Sunday School Directors

MENTOR_3082.jpgThe pastor and the director of the Sunday School are two of the most influential growth agents in the Sunday School ministry. The pastor and director are the visible “face” of the Sunday School. That means they are the most effective at promoting Sunday School to the church.  They are in the best position to give leadership to high attendance campaigns, starting new classes, and choosing curriculum. Their passion for evangelism and ministry can easily be communicated to church leaders. God has placed you in an important role for the kingdom; the Evangelism & Church Growth Team wants to be your primary partner in making a difference in your community through the Sunday School.

Adult Sunday School

ADULT_CLASS_3083.jpgAdult Sunday School teachers play a vital role in the mission of the church and the Sunday School. Adult teachers are on the “front lines” of evangelism and ministry. Adult teachers are more than just teachers, they are leaders. They lead their class to minister to each other, to reach the unchurched in their community and they help communicate the vision and direction of the church. God has placed you in an incredible position to make a difference in the lives of people. The Evangelism and Church Growth Team wants to be a partner with you in your ministry. As your partner we can help you with:
  • Resources
  • Personal Consulting
  • Ideas

Youth Sunday School

Youth teachers are more than just teachers, they are a guide to youth growing up in today's confusing culture. God has placed you in a postion to make an impact and give direction to impressionable teenagers. Who knows? You may be teaching the next president of the United States or Billy Graham right now!

Children's Sunday School

KIDS_SUNDAY_SCHOOL_3079.jpgChildren’s Sunday School provides foundational teaching and learning experiences for first-through-sixth-graders (preteens).  As churches use age-appropriate curriculum materials, teaching methods, and environments, they are able to reach and minister to children and families. Some of the important issues include learning styles, safety and security for children, enlistment of volunteers, grouping children according to grade levels, and talking to children about conversion.
