Cooperative Program
Arkansas Baptist churches work together through the ABSC to support a wide array of ministries and missions including: evangelism efforts, children's homes, volunteer missions, missions education, new churches, colleges and universities, collegiate ministries, camps, and much more. Your church's gifts through the Cooperative Program make it possible for the gospel to be shared with millions worldwide by missionaries in the U.S. and overseas. Your church is a part of helping people believe and enter the Kingdom and planting new churches across the globe. Ministries in Arkansas:
- assist in the planting of churches
- help youth and students make God-led choices and decisions through summer camps, campus ministries, children's ministries, and educational experiences at Ouachita Baptist University and Williams Baptist College.
Nearly 4,000 people were led to salvation in Christ through ABSC ministries in 2004. We can help your church:
- celebrate your participation in cooperative mission efforts
- educate and motivate your members to support missions through the CP by providing speakers and CP media materials.
Prayer
Ready to ignite a spirit of prayer in your church? Imagine it. In 1904, revival swept across the entire world. In Arkansas, baptisms increased 25-30% for three years in a row! The smallest churches around the world were filled to capacity, filled with an awesome sense of the presence of God. It was the last global revival. It has been 100 years. It has been too long. Our desire is to help your church get serious about prayer. Here are just a few of the workshops we offer:
- Equipping the Church to Pray for Spiritual Awakening
- How to Establish a Prayer Ministry in Your Church
- Restoring the Family Altar
- Moving "Mountains" through Wednesday Night Prayer Meetings
- The Prayer Room: Organizing Non-Stop Intercession in Your Church
- Prayer Summits: Area Pastors Uniting in Prayer for Revival
- Returning Our Churches to Houses of Prayer
- Setting the Captives Free - Praying for the Lost
- How to Pray for Kingdom Expansion at Home and Around the World
Theological Education
Several degree plans are available:
- Doctor of Ministry from Mid-America Baptist Theological Seminary
- Master of Divinity and Master of Arts in Christian Education from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary
- Diplomas and Certificates from Arkansas Baptist School of Biblical Studies
- Diplomas and Certificates in your Association from Seminary Extension
Demographics
According to the Leavell Center for Church Growth, "understanding how your church matches up with the demographics of your community is an important factor in determining where to start outreach to your community."
A demographic profile, based on U.S. Census data, can show you important information about the ages, income and education levels, and racial mix of your community. It can also help you spot population trends and see implications for your church and its ministry. An annual church letter profile report, showing your church's statistics for the past ten years, is included with your demographic profile. A number of convention staff members from various teams are available to assist you in interpreting the data in light of your church setting. A list of these persons is also included with your report.
