Bivocational Ministry
ABSC seeks to be an advocate to Bivocational Ministers and their families by encouraging and assisting in their calling and ministries for the advancement of the kingdom of God. Our goal is to affirm and provide resources for Bivocational Pastors and Ministers of Music, Education, Youth, and Children to assist them in local church ministry.
Smaller Membership Church (SMC) Updates: In February, the Leadership & Worship Team conducts a Pastor and Music Leader Retreat at Camp Paron for Pastors, Music Leaders, Pianist, Organist, and combined Children's Choir Leaders. Special emphasis is given to the needs of the Smaller Membership Church Bivocational Ministers. The SMC updates are also held in other regions of the state. Check the ABSC website for dates and places.
Bivocational Minister and Wife Fellowship: ABSC in partnership with Associational Missionaries sponsors regional fellowships and ministry training opportunities. If you are interested in a fellowship or training event in your area contact your Associational Missionary or J.D. Stake.
Mid-Continent Bivocational Celebration: Every other year Bivocational Ministers and their families from Arkansas, Illinois, Kentucky, Missouri and Tennessee get together for worship, fellowship and training. The next Celebration will be March 23-24, 2007, in Marion, Illinois. Watch for detailed information on the ABSC Website, the Vision and the Arkansas Newsmagazine.
