Pastors

Pastoral Care

Pastoral Care issues include, but are not limited to, the following:  pastoral counseling; counseling referrals; crisis support; hospital visitation; conducting weddings, funerals and church business meetings; and developing support groups and recovery groups. For information, training and resources in Pastoral Care contact J.D. Stake

Grief Support Groups

Special emphasis is given to help churches set up support groups to assist those in the church and community deal with the loss of a loved one.  Training and resources are available to any ABSC church by contacting the Leadership & Worship Team.

Pastors and Sunday School

The pastor and the director of the Sunday School are two of the most influential growth agents in the Sunday School ministry. The pastor and director are the visible “face” of the Sunday School. That means they are the most effective at promoting Sunday School to the church.

Church Committee Job Descriptions

Church Committees often work without clear direction. Now 21 job descriptions are available to download with permission to print for your church’s use. Use these as a model for writing your church committees’ job descriptions. Knowing what the target is makes it a lot easier to aim at and hit the target!

The Peacemaker Church Strategy

Christ gave the ministry of reconciliation to each Christian as a gift and a responsibility.  However, when you look at the statistics involving church splits, Christian divorce and pastors leaving their churches because of conflict, it’s obvious that few are responding to this call. The One-Day Introduction to Peacemaker Training is a 4-session study that can be presented in one day or approximately 4 one-hour sessions. You may schedule this on a first-come basis by calling J.D. Stake at 501.376.4791, ext. 5160 or 800.838.2272 (toll-free in Arkansas) or via email.
