Connecting First Touch Events
|
A First Touch Event is a planned opportunity to provide the church a point of contact with pre-Christians in their community. It is an initial relationship-building event that paves the way for sharing the Gospel at a later date.
The Importance of a First Touch Event
First Touch Events...
- begin a process of friendship and relationship-building with pre-Christians and your church that lays a foundation for later evangelistic efforts.
- show members of your community that you care about them, love them, and are willing to serve them.
- provide an opportunity for your church to become a more positive and visible influence in your community.
- are effective in overcoming barriers with those that are resistant to the Gospel or the church.
are a tremendous source for building a prospect file.

Importance of Follow-up
First Touch Events are designed to be an initial part of the evangelism process. For these events to be effective and to fulfill their purpose, there must be follow-up with the prospects discovered by these events. The people with whom you establish relationships at First Touch Events should be cultivated as prospects for future Your Life Matters events.
Your Life Matters... In First Touch Events!
“...He (Jesus) welcomes sinners and eats with them.”
Luke 15:2
When you participate in a First Touch Event, God will minister through you in a tremendous way in the hearts of pre-Christians. As you simply smile, greet, talk, and build friendships at these events, you demonstrate that you genuinely love and care for pre-Christians.
After the First Touch Event, the Holy Spirit communicates to these prospects in His powerful way that Jesus Christ genuinely loves and cares for them just as you demonstrated this truth by your kindness to them. First Touch Events lay the foundation for pre-Christians to positively respond to a future Gospel presentation.
