2017 Camp O Rama

Would you like to see the men in your church invest in the lives of boys and begin to disciple them to begin to reach other guys in their communities? Are you interested in a weekend event that combines disciple making, worship, missions, ministry along with lots of fun activities that guys love to do? What if you could do all of this for $20 or less? Let me introduce you to Camp-O-Rama 2017.

The purpose of this weekend missions discipleship experience is to aid boys and men in developing the skills necessary to become effective on-mission Christians who carry out the Great Commission to make disciples “as they are going.”  We use camping and other fun outdoor activities to provide opportunities for participants to interact with and learn from other Christian men and boys.  Arkansas Baptists from around the state give their time to share their passions, tell their stories and demonstrate how God uses the things men love to do to enable them to reach other men and boys who love to do the same things.

Camp O Rama is for all boys in 1st – 6th grades and their dads and/or adult male leaders. It takes place September 16-18, 2017 at Spring Lake Baptist Assembly in Lonsdale, AR. Participants bring their own camping gear and spend a weekend outdoors as they participate in worship, mission/ministry projects and a wide variety of fun activities. There are live demonstrations as well as opportunities to try your hand at various activities such as Dutch oven cooking, archery, fishing, bb guns, guitar, and much more.

This year we will feature group and individual competitions with something for everyone including a Fishing Derby, Archery challenge, Camp Craft Relay (tent pitching/knot tying/log sawing) Archery Tag and a Water Rocket Launch project.

Participants will also receive evangelism training and participate in a hands-on ministry project. We will partner with Spring Lake to help clean up and repair the All Peoples Village. This is an area with structures that represent the housing of various people groups from around the world. The Village provides opportunities to learn about different cultures and how we can pray for and help bring the gospel to these different people groups.

Worship is also a vital component of Camp-O-Rama. Guest speakers, worship leaders and real-life missionaries will lead our services on Friday night, Saturday morning and during our special bonfire worship experience on Saturday night. The weekend concludes with a time of worship and celebration on Sunday morning. Prizes for all competitions will be awarded during the closing celebration on Sunday morning.
