Arkansas Baptist building to close at noon on Fridays

The Arkansas Baptist State Convention building in Little Rock will now close on Fridays at noon. This change will go into effect beginning Friday, July 7.

The ABSC staff serves approximately 1550 churches of the Arkansas Baptist State Convention. The ABSC Operating Committee approved the new building hours on June 6th based on the observation that a growing number of Arkansas Baptist pastors and staff have begun doing ministry outside of the church office on Friday.

“This has resulted in a noticeable decrease in phone calls and building activity on Friday afternoons,” said Executive Administrator David Bond. “Adjusting building hours will focus our work hours during times when churches are most likely to request our assistance.”

Building hours Monday through Thursday will continue to be 8 a.m. to 4:45 p.m., and the change in the building’s Friday hours will not affect any staff positions. Even though the building will be closed on Friday afternoon, ABSC and Agency staff will remain accessible.

The Baptist building, located at 10 Remington Drive near Col. Glenn Road, houses the teams of the Executive Board, the Arkansas Baptist Children’s Homes, the Arkansas Baptist Foundation, and the Arkansas Baptist News.
