Connect

CONNECT is a ministry provided through your generous gifts to the Dixie Jackson Arkansas Missions offering that offers students and their adult leaders the experience of a weeklong mission trip packaged into a single weekend. Each year in April and October groups travel to various locations in Arkansas for a weekend of ministry, missions, worship and fellowship.  Lives are changed and relationships are formed as students work together to serve and to share the Gospel. The groups are housed in a local church with Disaster Relief providing showers and many of the meals. The weekend consists of times for worship, evangelism training and ministry projects. Projects for CONNECT include light construction, evangelism, canvassing and more.

Local churches provide these projects and work alongside the students in an effort to further impact their communities.

One such project involved literally building a wall. In Ola, Arkansas, CONNECT participants ministered to a woman who was living in a detached garage.  The garage had been converted to a living space but the garage door was drafty which made it difficult to heat and cool the space. A team of four female students and two adult leaders tore down the old door then framed and installed a new wall, complete with a door and a window.

The primary goal of CONNECT is to help lead students to be on mission everyday of their lives. A weekend of missions and ministry helps them realize that they can do these same things back home. Whether your group is big, small or somewhere in between, you are all invited to be a part of CONNECT.

Registration will be online soon. Go to absc.org/connect or contact Travis McCormick at tmccormick@absc.org for more information or to register your group.
