Can evangelism be creative? We seldom hear those two words used together in the same sentence. Why is that? When it comes to evangelism we often stick with what is familiar, and that can be good, but what if you want to think outside the box. The message never changes but methods never stop changing. Take a look at these creative ideas.

1. Servant Evangelism. Servant evangelism is a great way to meet people’s needs by loving them like Christ.  Jesus talks about in Matthew 20:28, how He has come not to be served, but to serve.

Central Baptist Church in Bald Knob took this approach when they delivered a loaf of bread to every house in its community along with a package which included a Bible, tract, church information, VBS registration, and a letter from the pastor explaining the purpose of the gift. A part of the success of servant evangelism is meeting a physical need.

Most people could use a loaf of bread so it met a need and it revealed a deeper truth, that Jesus is the “Bread of Life.” There are many creative ways the love of God can be expressed through serving others.

2. One Verse Evangelism. This is one of the simplest methods of sharing the gospel.  Instead of memorizing many verses and transitions, One Verse focuses on Romans 6:23. It’s practical in that it transitions word for word through Romans 6:23. A simple drawing helps to give a visual presentation of the gospel.  It’s so simple most people can learn to share One Verse in 30 minutes. That’s why it’s one of the most requested conferences I’m asked to lead across the state.  For more information, click here.

3. Go to whativaluemost.com. When it comes to witnessing most Christians have more than enough knowledge to lead a person to Christ. They’ve learned the Word of God through many years of Sunday School and sermons. They understand the power of the gospel and if someone were to ask they could share how Jesus saves. The problem is no one’s asking and most believers get a little nervous when it comes to initiating a witnessing conversation.

Whativaluemost.com is a website that enables you to share the gospel without saying a word.  It begins when a you type your testimony online at whativaluemost.com.Many people will then hand out whativaluemost.com cards with their name so others can go to the website and read about their most valuable relationship with Jesus and how He has given their life value. Each time someone checks out your testimony online you’ll receive an email informing you.

Generally speaking people are curious and will visit the site to see what you value. Through your online witness you will be presenting the gospel. The next time you meet them simply ask, “By the way, have you had a chance to see what I value most? Great, what did you think about it?” And suddenly you are in a witnessing conversation where the seed has already been planted through your written testimony and now they’re ready to receive the gospel.

4. Evangelism Response Center. The Evangelism Response Center (ERC) provides an opportunity for believers to share their faith from the comfort of their own homes. Through an innovative technological system, when seekers call the number 888 -Jesus -2000 they are routed to your home phone. Most calls are from people who already desire salvation and all they need is someone to lead them to Christ.

The 888-Jesus-2000 number is used nationwide, so there’s always a need for more Telephone Encouragers.  If you would like to find out more about becoming a Telephone Encourager go to erconline.net.
