Francisco Vazquez and his wife, Gabriela, never thought they would make it to DeQueen. It has been a long process but they are excited to finally be on the mission filed that God has called them to. Currently, De Queen has a total population of 6,749. According to the census bureau, 3,698 are Hispanic. Hispanics now comprise 55.4 percent of the population.

Francisco and Gabriela are no strangers to church planting. They were involved in starting several churches in Mexico. One of Francisco’s spiritual gifts is teaching and he has been very involved in discipleship throughout his ministry. Gabriela loves working in women’s ministry and with the children’s ministry as well.

They will begin the new work with home Bible studies. Their future strategy is to gather these different small groups together to form the core for a new church.

Giving Opportunities

Prayer Request:

Pray that God would give them connections to the community and inroads in building relatoinships.
Pray that God would give them favor with key people and leaders of the Hispanic Community in DeQueen.
That the Lord would multiply their efforts as they begin this new church start through a cell/ house church strategy.
That God would help them acclimate as they adjust to living in a new country.
Since they had to leave their children and grandchildren back in Mexico pray that God would comfort them and bring them peace.

Wish List Item:

Funds to pay for an ongoing daily radio program to the Hispanic community that Francisco and Gabriela began last week.
Laptop computer.
