worship experience with other believers,
it will cause him or her to pursue
regular personal worship on a daily basis."

Worship

Planning Resources
Our consultants can help you find the resources that fit your need.

Worship Center Design
Let us help connect you to professionals that can design your worship center for maximum effectiveness.

Hymnals
Through our network, we can match a church with used hymnals. If your church has bought new ones recently, let us know and we can find someone who is in need of your old books.  Why let them "rust" when we can find them a good home with a little networking effort?  Call Connie at 800.838.2272, ext. 5121 (toll-free in AR) or 501.376.4791 ext. 5121.

Supply/Interim
We are a clearinghouse for your next supply or interim music director or accompanist. We have an ever-changing list of people who are looking for a place to minister.

Lending Library
The Leadership and Worship music & worship office has a statewide lending library where you can rent music for very little.  Contact us for information about what we might have in our library for your use.

CCLI (Christian Copyright Licensing International)
The Church Copyright License is the most comprehensive, convenient, and cost effective means of copyright clearance available for songs used in congregational singing.  License holders have the advantage of creating their own worship aids, custom tailored to their specific needs. It also offers the versatility of a vast selection of song titles to keep your worship services fresh and creative. This is an annual license that has to be renewed every year.  For more information, go to www.ccli.com or call 800.234.2446 or 503.257.2230.

Consultation
Our music consultants are the top in the state with a combined total of over 75 years of experience. Whether it's a consult on the kind of director that would fit your needs or your worship problems or music inquiries, we will try to help you solve them tailored to the size and ambition of the church.

Music Ministry

Master'Singers

group.jpgThe Arkansas Master’Singers are music ministers, directors, accompanists, choir leaders, pastors, staff members and staff spouses from Southern Baptist churches in every corner of the state and all places in between, participating voluntarily and at their own expense. There are four groups: the Mens’ Chorus, which began in 1961; the Women's Chorus, which began in 1973; the Combined Chorus; and the Instrumental Ensemble, which began in 1978. Master'Singers is a Cooperative Program ministry of the Arkansas Baptist State Convention. Annual venues include the state convention meetings and concerts in local churches, by invitation, where at least one member of the group is involved in the music ministry of that church.

Roundtables - Large Church/Small Church
Our professionals serve as facilitators to pull together interest groups for peer learning at roundtables where you can be "fed" and give feedback on the issues at hand in the churches in our state.

ArkMusic Link
We have set up a Yahoo Music Group called Arkmusic that caters to our needs as Baptists in the state of Arkansas.  To subscribe send an email to the address: cichter@absc.org

Festivals

Handbells
This festival is designed for any youth or adult handbell choir that is active in a Southern Baptist church in Arkansas. Out-of-state choirs may participate as long as the maximum number of Arkansas choirs is not registered by the registration deadline. Developing choirs and/or their directors are encouraged to observe during any or all of the festival sessions.

PraizFest 2007 056.jpg Praizfest is an unforgettable youth choir experience! Each year we import a qualified clinician to give you the best advice for your choir needs for two days in January. Each church is responsible for getting their own music for the festival but Lifeway Christian Stores makes that a snap (to order music call 1.800.368.7421). There are many good experiences to be had among which are the solo tryouts. Any youth desiring to try to obtain the solo position should come prepared to sing a complete solo from memory. The thrilling experience of the "Grand Concert," which is accompanied by a full symphony orchestra, is one that your young people will not soon forget. Afterwards, take home your souvenir festival T-shirt (paid for in registration fee) and CD recording of the Grand Final Concert. Growing and learning are just two of the maximum benefits that you take home along with the rosy glow of the musical sounds echoing in your ears.

Training (Leadership)

Handbell Workshop
The Handbell Workshop usually given in alternate years, guides you in finding resources for your handbell choir and training you in areas in which you need help.  This workshop will help your director, your seasoned bell-ringers and novices alike.

Keyboard Konnection

Keyboard.jpgKeyboard Konnection provides an opportunity to enjoy fellowship, share and play new music, and give you insights on other resources. Konnections also provide a forum for questions and concerns, offer mini-Konnections in areas of mutual interest, help develop more keyboard players, and offer an opportunity to connect them to more churches in need.  Plan to coordinate between the accompanists in your church and our contracted musicians, and perhaps host one of these Keyboard Konnections in your church or association, or even your home.  For more information, contact Peggy Pearson owner of Jubal's Lyre Studio in North Little Rock. She blesses the convention with over 29 years of experience in keyboard knowledge.
