In the wake of hurricanes Katrina and Rita, some 5,015 Arkansans served over 1.8 million meals through Arkansas Baptist State Convention disaster relief kitchens. 2,624 volunteers serving on chainsaw teams cleared trees and debris from almost 1,500 yards! Now, Arkansas Baptists are helping to rebuild homes in the Gentilly area of New Orleans. From now through November 2007, we are in great need of “helpers” to pull wire and install light switches/wall plug boxes in homes. The homes are totally gutted. Helpers will not be required to “hook up” the wires to the switches and plugs. A licensed electrician will perform that work. Helpers will NOT handle live electrical lines at all. Helpers:
In addition, we need insulation/drywall installation teams, serving under the same terms above. Thank you for your service to the Lord and your giving to the Dixie Jackson Arkansas Missions Offering.
