Arkansas WMU Missions Celebration set for Sept. 26
The Arkansas Woman’s Missionary Union (WMU) Missions Celebration will be held Sept. 26 at Immanuel Baptist Church in Little Rock.
A special breakout of the Arkansas Baptist Women’s Conference, the event will focus on stories of gospel impact, meaningful connection, and God’s work around the world. Attendees will be encouraged and inspired through a missions-centered experience highlighting opportunities to pray, serve and engage in the Great Commission.
“We are so excited about this year's WMU Missions Celebration. You will hear testimonies of what God is doing in our state, our nation and around the world. WMU is not an exclusive club or group requiring a membership,” Arkansas WMU Executive Director Laura Bramlett said. “We are women who strive to be faithful disciples of Jesus living on mission"
The celebration will feature Sandy Wisdom-Martin, executive director of National WMU; Lydia Steelman, a Send Relief missionary serving in Kenya; and the youth choir from Iglesia Bautista Nueva Jerusalen in Little Rock, the home church of Diana Rodriguez, Arkansas WMU’s Hispanic consultant.
Women attending the Arkansas Baptist Women Conference can participate by selecting “WMU Missions Celebration” as their connection group when registering for the conference.

"We would love for every woman at the Arkansas Baptist Women's Conference to join us for the WMU connection group as we talk about what it means to be Rooted in Mission. Come celebrate with us,” Bramlett said.
A retirement reception honoring Wisdom-Martin will be held from 6:30-8 p.m. Sept. 25 at the Arkansas Baptists building in Little Rock. Everyone is invited to celebrate Wisdom-Martin’s decades of ministry, including the 10 years she served in Arkansas.
