Students across Arkansas gather for See You at the Pole

  • Arkansas News,

Students across Arkansas gathered at their schools’ flagpoles Wednesday, Sept. 23, for See You at the Pole.

See You at the Pole is a national, student-initiated, student-organized and student-led movement that encourages students to gather at their school flagpoles for prayer on the fourth Wednesday of September each year.

“I love See You at the Pole every year because it is a chance for students to unite and to stand boldly for Christ in front of their peers by praying for each other, their classmates, their teachers and their school,” said Alan Johnston, youth and college pastor at FBC London. He noted about 55 students gathered for prayer at Russellville High School.

“It is always interesting to see the looks on the faces of their peers as they enter the school while it is happening, and my hope is always that some of those gathered get asked about it later in the day," Johnston said.

Several Arkansas Baptist churches shared photos and updates from See You at the Pole on social media. First Baptist Church Lake City Student Ministry shared, “What a blessing it was to see our kids gather together for See You at the Pole! Seeing their faith and their willingness to gather together is something truly special.”

The church also invited students to return that evening for “Saw You at the Pole.”

Students in Pottsville also participated in the annual prayer event.

“What an awesome morning at See You at the Pole 2026!” Elevate, the student ministry of Pottsville FBC shared on Facebook. “We had a GREAT turnout at Pottsville High School as students came together to pray for their school, friends, teachers, community, and each other.”

Across the state, students used the annual event to gather with their peers and pray for their schools, communities, teachers and fellow student. These are just a few instances of students participating in See You at the Pole across Arkansas.
