Anticipated Nominations for officers of 2020 ABSC Pastors’ Conference and ABSC Convention President

As the 2019 Arkansas Baptist Pastors’ Conference and Annual Meeting begins, there is much excitement over all that will happen as God’s people gather from Arkansas Baptist churches all across our state. It has been reported that the following men will be nominated as officers for the 2020 ABSC Pastors’ Conference. Dr. Nick Floyd will be nominated as President. Dr. Floyd serves as the Senior Pastor of Cross Church Northwest Arkansas. Prior to his role as Senior Pastor, he served as Lead Teaching Pastor & Staff Leader for 10 years while teaching weekly at Cross Church’s Fayetteville campus. Dr. Floyd has served on the ABSC Executive Board since 2014 and was a member of the 2018-2022 ABSC Budget Formula Task Force. Rev. David Mitchell, Senior Pastor of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church in Cabot will be nominated as Vice President. Rev. Chester Witherspoon will be nominated to serve as the Secretary-Treasurer. 

 

It has also been reported that Rev. Manley Beasley, Jr. will be nominated to serve as the 2020 President of the Arkansas Baptist State Convention. Rev. Beasley has served as the Senior Pastor of Hot Springs Baptist Church since 2006. He has also been deeply involved in Arkansas Baptist life, serving as President of the ABSC Executive Board from 2018-19, the 2018-2022 ABSC Budget Formula Task Force, and as a member of the ABSC Prayer Task Force. Dr. Ken Shaddox, Senior Pastor of Park Hill Baptist Church in North Little Rock,  will be a nominee for First Vice President. Dr. Shaddox has also been deeply involved in Arkansas Baptist life having served in many roles such as Trustee for Ouachita Baptist University. Finally, Pastor Roderick Rogers of Fordyce Community Baptist Church will be nominated as Second Vice President. Pastor Rogers planted Fordyce Community Baptist church in 2017 and has been very active with ABSC church planting efforts and is a member of the ABSC Prayer Task Force.
