2019 Literacy Missions Workshops

2019 Literacy Missions Workshops

Join other Arkansas Baptist volunteers at the Baptist Building who are committed to reaching people for Christ through literacy missions.  Online registration is below.  Deadline May 31.  If you are still interested and didn't get a chance to register, please call 501-376-4791, ext. 5150 to see if there are any spots still available!

Literacy Missions training prepares Arkansas Baptists to help people  in three specific areas:

  • Internationals who need a better grasp of English (English as a Second Language);
  • Adults who want to learn to read and write and the need to improve their reading skills (Adult Reading and Writing);
  • School-aged children and youth who need help with basic skills and/or school work (Tutoring Children and Youth)

Arkansas Literacy Missions Team members are trained and certified by the National Literacy Missions Partnership to lead training workshops for churches and their members who want to offer this type of ministry in their community. The 11-hour training workshop covers a multitude of topics—basic ministry administration needs; tutoring training skills; and ways to incorporate the Gospel in a tutoring session—and is developed specifically for churches to take and fit their local ministry needs.

Training: Friday/Saturday, June 14-15, 2019

Choose from:

  • English as a Second Language (ESL)
  • Tutoring Children and Youth (TCY)
