2020 Literacy Missions Workshops POSTPONED

ATTENTION: The April 3-4, 2020, Literacy Missions Event has been POSTPONED, as of March 16, 2020. New dates will be announced.  

 

New for 2020! The ABSC Missions Team is combining two popular workshops (Literacy Missions and Bible Storying) into one incredible Literacy Missions training event! Join other Arkansas Baptists who are committed to reaching people for Christ through literacy missions for the Literacy Missions Workshop held at the Baptist Building,

 

Participants have the option of choosing one of the following:

 

ESL and Tutoring Children and Youth trainings are led by North American Mission Board/Send Relief certified trainers. Upon completion of the workshop, participants receive certification given through the National Literacy Missions Partnership. 

 

When: Friday/Saturday, April 3-4, 2020

         6:00 p.m.-9:00 p.m. Friday, 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. Saturday

Where: Arkansas Baptist State Convention, 10 Remington Dr., Little Rock

Cost: $25 per person (includes materials and Saturday lunch)

 

  • English as a Second Language – Learn how to minister to Internationals who need a better grasp of the English language
  • Tutoring Children and Youth – Learn how to serve school-aged children and youth who need help with basic skills and/or schoolwork

Bible Storying training is led by Jamie Naramore, ABSC Missions Team, who received International Mission Board training in this area, served on the international field, and has started multiple storying groups.

 

When: Saturday ONLY, April 4, 2020

            8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. Saturday

Where: Arkansas Baptist State Convention, 10 Remington Dr., Little Rock

Cost: $25 per person (includes Saturday lunch)

 

  • Learn how to lead a Story Fellowship Group, connect your story to a story from Scripture, and craft Bible stories for use in local and international ministries. Bible Storying will only be available on Saturday.

Each workshop is designed specifically to assist churches in incorporating the Gospel into their local ministry needs.
