The Arkansas Baptist State Convention is here to help your church. Protecting minors and those vulnerable from sexual abuse remains a top priority. Join us for the Abuse Prevention + Response Conference as we walk through the Essentials to actively assist and encourage Arkansas Baptist churches to train, screen, protect, report, and care when it comes to abuse prevention and response.


SPEAKERS


Emily Smith


Emily Smith serves as the Abuse Prevention + Response Consultant for the Arkansas Baptist State Convention. She has served on staff with the Southern Baptists of Texas Convention, and Beech Street FBC as a children’s minister. She has over 15 years of experience serving, training, and educating churches in the areas of safeguarding minors and next generation ministries. Emily and her husband enjoy serving in the Kids Ministry at First Baptist Church Hot Springs.
 

 

 


 


Robert Sterling


Robert Sterling currently serves as a Regional Sales Manager for James Greene and Associates, having previously worked as a Territory manager.  Before coming to James Greene, Robert served on church staff for over 15 years, as a Youth pastor, Family pastor, and Lead pastor at two different Southern Baptist churches.  He received his BS in Business from Arkansas Tech University and his M-Div from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary.  He is passionate about people and believes they must be at the heart of everything we do. One of his favorite guiding life truths is, “nothing godly happens by accident, you have to be intentional”. 

 


Christa Neal


Christa Neal serves as the program director of the Community and Family Services academic program and the Title IX Coordinator at Ouachita Baptist University. She is a trauma specialized Licensed Professional Counselor and Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. Christa provides abuse reform consultation to churches and organizations across the state.  Her family is active in First Baptist Church Arkadelphia where she serves as the chair of the Safety Team.


 

 

 


Sean Culpepper


Sean Culpepper serves as a Regional Supervisor for Living Well Professional Counseling, a ministry of Arkansas Baptist Children and Family Ministries. Sean has over 20 years of professional counseling experience and 30 years of ministry experience. He is a shepherding elder at the Summit Church Saline in Benton, Arkansas, and he helps with Celebrate Recovery and Kids’ ministry. Sean is a Licensed Professional Counselor specializing in counselor supervision; his primary focus is on individual and group trauma recovery, couples counseling, and counselor supervision.
