Dr. David Allen

Dean of the School of Preaching
Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary

David L. Allen serves as the Dean of the School of Preaching and holds the George W. Truett Chair of Pastoral Ministry at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas. During his ministry he served as senior pastor of two churches for a total of 21 years and has served as interim pastor of a dozen churches.

He is currently working on a commentary on Job (Exalting Jesus in Job) in the Christ-Centered Exposition Commentary Series and The Atonement of Christ in the Baptist Theology Series. His most recent book, The Extent of the Atonement, was published in 2016.

Dr. Michael Spradlin

Mid-America Baptist Theological Seminary

Michael R. Spradlin, Ph.D., president of Mid-America Baptist Theological Seminary, received a B.A. from Ouachita Baptist University, and an M.Div and Ph.D. from MABTS.  He has a versatile ministry background that includes preaching, teaching, church planting, and many international and North American mission trips.  In addition to serving as the president, Dr. Spradlin is also the Chair of the Evangelism Department and a professor in the Church History department. 

He is the author of many scholarly articles and books, most recently The Sons of the 43rd: The Story of Delmar Dotson, Gray Allison, and the Men of the 43rd Bombardment Group in the Southwest Pacific and editor of Studies in Genesis 1-1: A Creation Commentary. Dr. Spradlin and his wife Lee Ann live in Memphis, TN and have three children; David, Thomas, and Laura.

Dr. Steve Gaines

Senior Pastor
Bellevue Baptist Church, Memphis, TN

Steve Gaines serves as the Senior Pastor at Bellevue Baptist Church, Memphis, TN and held the office of President of the Southern Baptist Convention 2016-2018. He has served in four churches as senior pastor over the past 35 plus years. He holds a Ph.D. in Preaching from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, Ft. Worth, TX.

Steve is married to Donna Gaines. They have four children: their son, Grant, senior pastor of Belle Aire Baptist Church in Murfreesboro, TN, who is married to Melisa, a homemaker; daughter, Lindsey, homemaker and wife of Ryan Wingo, worship pastor at Prince Avenue Baptist Church in Athens, GA; daughter, Allison, homemaker and wife of Gentry Hill, who is the Senior Pastor of FBC, Poteau OK; and daughter, Bethany, homemaker and wife of David Golding an engineer with Turner Construction Company in Memphis, TN.  Steve and Donna are both authors, and Steve has published a musical worship CD and his books, Pray Like it Matters, Share Jesus Like it Matters and the re-release of his devotional book, Morning Manna.  Steve and Donna have 14 grandchildren and one more on the way in the fall of 2019.
