Who's Your One prayer service

A Who’s Your One prayer service can be valuable for the congregation as they develop a burden for lost people around them and specifically their One. Consider setting aside a Sunday morning worship service to dedicate to prayer. Here is a sample outline of the order of the prayer service. You can customize the service to fit your congregation’s needs and schedule.

Song of reflection and repentance

GUIDED PRAYER: Repentance

    • Psalm 51:1-12
    • Coming before God requires acknowledging His holiness and our sinfulness
      • Not flippant acknowledgment…a genuine brokenness over our sinfulness
      • So serious because it breaks our fellowship and strains our relationship with God
    • Ps. 32:1-5 (congregational reading)
    • 1 John 1:8-9 – Great promise!
    • (Guided prayer time…music plays quietly as you guide the congregation):
      • Ask God to show you your sin (search your heart – several moments)
      • Ask God to help you understand the seriousness of your sin
      • Ask Him to give you a brokenness (and desire to repent)
      • Believe the promise of 1 John 1:9
      • Confess your sins to God (acknowledge them…accept responsibility for them)
      • Turn from them

Song Inviting God to Work

GUIDED PRAYER: Revival for the church

    • Let us ask God to bring revival to His people
      • Love for God…longing for God…desire to see God work in us as His people
    • Doesn’t stop there – We need to invite God to work in the churches around us!
      • Thousands in our county
      • Too many to reach by ourselves
      • We need to pray that God will bring revival to us and to the churches around us!
    • (Guided prayer…music plays quietly)
      • Our church – leaders, next pastor, fire to see God work!
      • Unity
      • Protection
      • Burden for the community
      • Pour out His Spirit – do that which only God can do!

Song Expressing Need for Spiritual Awakening

GUIDED PRAYER: Spiritual awakening for our community, state, and nation

  • “Unclaimed”
    • Arkansas: almost ½!
    • U.S.: 160 million!
  • More people in U.S. than ever…more unchurched people in U.S. than ever
    • A smaller percentage being baptized than ever!
  • Our nation is filled with hopelessness and sin!
    • Our nation needs spiritual awakening that only God can bring
  • Our motive can’t be comfort (we have heaven)…must be burdened for lost people!
  • People are looking for solutions…Jesus is the only real solution.
  • Desperation!...2 Chron. 7:14
  • Do we want that? Are we prepared for that?
  • Let’s ask God for it!
  • (Guided prayer time…music plays quietly)
    • The lost in our community…give us a burden for their salvation!
    • Our nation (needs God)
    • Leaders of our nation
      • But even with moral laws – people still die and go to hell
    • Lost of our nation – open their eyes…ask God to work
    • Let us see you work in a way that we have never seen before!
    • Give us voluntary desperation – a great hunger to fulfill the Great Commission
  • Pastor or other leader concludes this time praying a prayer for revival

  • God has placed you in their lives to be His ambassador
  • You may be the only person who cares they are lost…the only one who is willing to intercede for them… the only one who is willing to share the Gospel with them
