Missions U

The Missions Team of the Arkansas Baptist State Convention invites you to join us for a day dedicated to training and equipping pastors, church staff, missions leaders and anyone who desires to see their church actively involved in God’s mission. Spend the day learning from and interacting with key international, national and local missions leaders who will help guide you on your journey to missions involvement.

Every participant will graduate from Missions U with a working roadmap to help you on your way to missions involvement including a trip planner, a directory of resources and contact information for continued support throughout the year.

  • Storytelling to Involve Others in Missions - Sandy Wisdom-Martin
    This conference will help you use effective storytelling to draw people into missions.
  • 50 Steps with Jesus - Sandy Wisdom-Martin
    A 7-week spiritual growth journey that helps a believer take new steps with the Lord, explore His truths, grow closer to Him, and become more secure in the foundations of their faith. Each of us can be personally involved in making disciples of Jesus who live on mission.  
  • Involving Men in the Mission - Jon Jeffries
    This conference will identify potential obstacles that keep men from being more involved, encourage a passion for missions that can only come from God, and point out resources that help involvement.  
  • Involving Students in the Mission - Jon Jeffries
    This conference will help explore ways students can be involved in missions, examine how the Bible motivates missions, and identify helpful resources.  
  • Involving Kids in the Mission - Steve Lasiter
    Kids are called to make disciples too. Discover hands-on opportunities and resources to help you lead children to be involved in God’s mission.
  • The Gospel for All Cultures - Travis McCormick
    Learn about the world's three primary culture types, how Christians can share the Gospel cross-culturally, and how the Bible speaks to cultures of guilt, shame, and fear.

    Mission partnerships offer an incredible opportunity to involve individuals and churches in missions. But what partnerships are available? How do you get started and what is required?  Discover everything you wanted to know about partnerships and learn how you can get started today.

    We will walk through a different way to view mission partnerships that’s not transactional but relational.  You will come away with practical steps and tools for your next mission trip.

    Learn how God is moving through websites, social media, and digital content to reach people with the Gospel. Learn how these tools are being used and how you can be a part of global missions without ever leaving home.

    All participants in the Community Missions Track will take this breakout to discover the importance of identifying needs in your community and how to meet them while sharing the Gospel.

    The Arkansas Baptist State Convention offers missions opportunities that occur regularly across the state. Learn how volunteers can get involved. 
  • Build Your Own Missions Opportunities - Clint Ritchie
    Communities across Arkansas are full of opportunities. This session will discover ways churches can engage the lostness in their local context. 
  • Missional Living in Your Neighborhood - Travis McCormick
    Hear practical ideas to help you reach the lost in your own backyard.  
  • Community Needs Assessment - Sam Roberts
    The Community Needs Assessment is the first step in analyzing the make-up of families and community services in and around the local church.
