Scottie LongMy wife, DieAtria & I were married on March 6, 1999 & have two children. Although I was born in Tucker, AR I have been a Little Rock native for over 40 years. I was not only married in 1999 but also called to preach the gospel. But the calling God has placed on my life is not just to preach but to build. After serving as an associate minister for the last nine years, God is clearly calling my wife and I to start a church. This past year God has confirmed, arranged, and made provisions for his will to be done. The vision for the Mercy Church was birthed in my heart many years ago but has just been realized recently. We started in a temporary location in the Southwest community & were blessed with a permanent location there in October (Upper Baseline Community). God’s calling on my life to this community is very personal. My past qualifies me to understand & meet the needs of those in our context. I haven’t always followed Jesus closely & he is using my story to impact many for the gospel. I am able to reach out without many obstacles to plant words of Jesus’ favor, grace, mercy, & forgiveness.
