Block Party Ministry
Block Party ministry is a great way to reach your local community with lasting effects, not only on the community, but also on the hosting church. In a non-traditional, non-threatening way, it becomes a simple tool to share the love of the church plus the wonderful love of Christ. Across Arkansas, hundreds of people have come to know Christ as their Savior during block party events. Block party trailers and equipment are tools that God has furnished to help the church share the gospel with people in their community as well as on mission trips.
The ABSC Missions Team offers two types of training events:
- Block Party Regional Training Workshops
- Statewide Block Party Festival
==============
Block Party Regional Training Workshops are provided for churches and associations that
- already have a block party ministry
- OR, are going to host a block party using resources from a church or association
Each regional training workshop includes:
- inflatable operation certification for persons 18 years of age and older.
- how to set up your block party
- current liability and insurance laws
- evangelism training.
Since each adult participant receives a certificate for inflatable operation certification, individual registration is required.

The Statewide Block Party Trailer Festival (registration required, below) is an annual event (Saturday, March 9, 2024) for both churches that have a block party trailer AND those who are interested in starting a block party ministry. Sample trailers will be available to view and there will be plenty of time to ask questions.
The Block Party Festival will include a community Block Party through partnering with Baring Cross Baptist Church. Current Block Party teams are asked to bring their trailers to set up inflatables and games, along with some popcorn machines and sno cone machines. Trailers will be asked to set up games from their trailer, with a focus on any that may be unique to their trailer. This will give churches and associations interested in starting a block party ministry the opportunity see a block party take place and to learn particular skills necessary for an effective ministry.
We also offer Inflatable Annual Inspections. The Arkansas Department of Labor requires an annual inspection of all inflatables. As a convenience for ABSC churches, the Missions Team has arranged for a state-approved inspector to be on site at the Festival to provide this service. Inspection cost is to be paid by check, made out to the Arkansas Department of Labor.
Arkansas Department of Labor Inflatable Inspection Cost (per church):
- 1-5 inflatables = $100
- 6-10 inflatables = $200
