Ministers' Wives of Arkansas

Welcome to the Ministers’ Wives of Arkansas page! We are glad you are here. Please know that you are loved, valued, seen, and appreciated. Ministry is full of ups and downs. There are moments when you are sure of your calling, your place in ministry, and the plan God has for you. There are also moments when you are so unsure of your life and calling that it makes it difficult to breathe. Questions swirl, doubts are real, and it seems like everyone and everything is against you. With this in mind, we invite you to a safe place where you can be yourself and receive encouragement for your soul and equipping for your vital role in the local church.

The Arkansas Baptist State Convention along with the Ministers’ Wives Team of Arkansas are here to serve you. Check out the events offered throughout the year. Please join us at the events and invite other wives to take advantage of these opportunities to connect. Be sure and join the Ministers’ Wives of Arkansas private facebook page. This page offers an on-going opportunity for community.

WAYS TO CONNECT:

Evangelism Conference (January)
On Tuesday, a workshop/lunch is provided free of charge for all ministers’ wives (pastor, youth, worship, etc). It is a time to be encouraged by an inspirational speaker on practical issues we face in ministry.

Inspire Women's Conference (March)
While Inspire Conference involves all women, it provides a breakout session for ministers’ wives. There is a nominal cost to attend Inspire Conference.

 Annual Meeting Luncheon (October)
Each year on Monday of the Pastor’s Conference, ABSC provides a fun-filled day for all ministers’ wives. This event is planned by the AR Baptist Ministers’ Wives Team with the sole purpose of ministering to and encouraging all ministers’ wives. This event is free. The only thing you need to do is register. (Childcare provided).

Ministers’ Wives Facebook Group: AR Baptist Ministers’ Wives (SBC)
Connect with other Arkansas Baptist Ministers’ Wives throughout the year through a private Facebook Group. Share prayer requests, stay up to date on events, and enjoy fellowship that is meaningful to you.

We are excited to share a wonderful opportunity with you! Across Arkansas, wives are connecting through fellowship groups in organic ways. One desire we have is for wives who live and serve in regional areas to connect with one another for the purpose of networking, resource sharing, and friendship development. Fellowship groups are a great way to make that type of connection! If you are willing to start a fellowship group in your area, please begin by following these steps!

FIVE EASY STEPS FOR FORMING A MINISTERS' WIVES FELLOWSHIP

1. Be pro-active.
Seek out and share with a couple of ministers’ wives in your area about the idea of forming a fellowship group.

2. Enlist your association for help.
Ask for a list of churches with all ministers, their wives' names, address, and phone. The association will also be able to help you send out e-mails or e-invitations to the wives.

3. Pick a location.
Choose a restaurant, home, church fellowship area, etc. for your fellowship time. Invite all the ministry wives to attend. If providing snacks or going out to dinner, ask for an RSVP. Even if only two or three attend, have fun, get to know one another, and plan to meet at least once a month. Be sure to send an announcement for the next meeting

4. Each group will look different. No two groups look alike.
The point is to have fun. You do not need a “planned Bible study” or program. Be creative with activities like craft night, bowling night, pizza and movie night, chocolate night, etc.

5. Don’t give up.
Growing a group takes time and effort. Even if only two or three attend, it is worth it. Keep
meeting and keep inviting the ministers’ wives.

You are loved and you are not alone. The Arkansas Baptist State Convention and the Ministers’ Wives team of Arkansas are here to serve you! Please reach out to any of the leaders with questions or ideas. We are better together!
