Smaller Membership Church Ministry

Pastors and staff that serve local churches bi-vocationally have unique challenges that full time ministers may not face. While serving as the shepherd/leader/pastor to their churches and spiritual heads of their families, they are balancing a secular job or going to school. They master the art of merging “two jobs into one life.” Without their ministries, many churches would not be able to function.

Currently, there are more than five hundred bi-vocational pastors serving in Arkansas Baptist churches, with many others serving bi-vocationally in other church staff positions. The desire of the Arkansas Baptist State Convention is to provide resources, training, encouragement and support for these valuable leaders.
